The Brookfield Viscometer measures fluid viscosity by measuring the force to turn the spindle in the solution at a given shear rate. Brookfield deals with liquids and semi-solids. Apparent viscosity in cP (centipoise) is determined by Brookfield viscometer, which measures the torque required to rotate a spindle at constant speed in oil of a given temperature.
Applications
- Viscosity is a principal parameter when any flow measurements of fluids, such as liquids, semi-solids, gases and even solids are made.
- Brookfield has a variety of food application, lubricant viscosity application notes using viscometer.
- Applicable on different types of beverages test, paints test.
- High viscosity liquid requires more power to pump than a low viscosity one. Knowing its behavior, therefore, is useful when designing pumping and piping systems.
