Model
Single Molecule Imaging, Nikon
Features
Using Total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRFM), offers unique environment to study the dynamics of individual molecules at aqueous environment. It takes advantage of the evanescent field that is generated beyond a glass surface when laser light is totally reflected off the interface between two materials with different refractive indexes such as fused silica slide and an aqueous buffer.
Applications
Figure Showing the working principle of TIRFM Top panel showing the details optical component associated with TIRFM set-up and the bottom panel highlighting the total internal reflection of the laser light at the glass/water interface.
